Immocontact: Important update
NewImmocontact is like a Gucci handbag… beware, there may be copies!
As you know, Centris has announced that it will not be renewing its contract with Immocontact, effective May 1, 2026. We would like to reassure you once again that Immocontact will continue to be available to brokers and agencies after May 1, with no service interruption and no loss of data. Of course, this includes the service provided to your call centres, despite some having “cried wolf” on the matter. We look forward to offering you, from May onwards, brand-new and truly extraordinary features (which cannot be copied overnight!). We are starting slowly today with calendar synchronisation, a feature that has been available for many years to real estate boards outside Quebec.
During a period of selective memory, Centris forgot to mention a very important point to you. We have filed a lawsuit against Centris based on serious allegations of intellectual property infringement. These allegations will only be decided by a judge at trial. Contrary to what may have been suggested, no judge has yet ruled on the merits of the case in the ongoing proceedings. Furthermore, we have never sought the discontinuation of Immocontact, but rather the termination of our contractual relationship with Centris, so that we may offer the service directly to brokers.
We do not want to bore you with legal jargon, but to fully grasp the seriousness of the situation, we invite you to read the following excerpt (translated from the French official extract) from the Strategic alliance agreement between “La Chambre” (now Centris) and Telmatik (now Tootelo, the creator of Immocontact):
- c)All rights, titles and interests, including intellectual property rights, held by Telmatik in relation to Immocontact shall remain the exclusive property of Telmatik.
- d)La Chambre undertakes not to challenge, either directly or indirectly, Telmatik's rights in relation to Immocontact.
- e)La Chambre undertakes to notify Telmatik of any infringement of intellectual property rights relating to Immocontact of which it becomes aware, on the understanding that Telmatik shall have full discretion to determine the appropriate remedial action in the circumstances.
- f)It is agreed that any development carried out jointly by Telmatik and La Chambre relating to the adaptation or improvement of Immocontact shall be the exclusive property of Telmatik, which shall have full ownership thereof, together with all rights of use and exploitation.
We leave it to you to form your own opinion on the justification for our actions regarding Centris.
Rest assured: we understand that decisions regarding Immocontact are made by a small number of individuals, and that the vast majority of Quebec brokers do not support such a software re-engineering venture, with its enormous costs and highly contentious legal aspects.
It is also worth recalling the success of Immocontact. A Quebec-based SME with reach across Canada. A tool you have been using since 1999 to make your work easier, and in which over $10 million has been invested. A platform that has handled over 100 million communications. A widely used and appreciated service, accounting for less than 2% of Centris's revenue.
In conclusion, from a financial, technological and legal perspective, as well as in terms of corporate image, we believe that Centris, like a Labrador taking on a porcupine, has the wrong target and is seriously underestimating the consequences, particularly in the current economic climate where we are all being urged to prioritise local suppliers.
We are sincerely sorry that we have all, despite ourselves, been drawn into this situation. That said, we are already looking ahead, and we are very much looking forward to seeing you again on the new Immocontact!

Important Communication of March 12, 2026
Dear Brokers,
Following Centris's statement issued on Thursday, 12 March, many of you reached out with valid questions. We would like to clarify the situation.
Immocontact has supported Quebec's real estate brokers since 1994 and will continue to do so for many years to come. Contrary to what might be inferred, no application to suspend services has been filed with the courts; quite the opposite, in fact.
On 28 October, Centris informed us of its decision not to renew its agreement with us, effective May 1st, 2026. We will provide Immocontact services directly to all brokers across Quebec, with no service disruption and no loss of data, just as we did long before Centris existed.
From a legal standpoint, we have had to initiate proceedings to protect our intellectual property. We allege that Centris engaged in software reverse engineering, which would constitute a breach of our strategic alliance agreement and of applicable laws. These proceedings may take several years. That said, we want to reassure you: brokers who wish to continue using our services will experience no interruption.
Should Centris choose to respect your freedom to select your work tools, we remain open to keeping links from the Centris platform to Immocontact active. In any case, simple and efficient alternative access options will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Good news for Quebec brokers! For several years, Centris had asked us not to enable certain features already in use by real estate boards outside Québec. We are therefore pleased to make these features available in the coming weeks. More details will follow shortly.
We regret any uncertainty caused by the statement issued. Please be assured that our team remains available to answer your questions and support you.
The Immocontact team
Why will Immocontact no longer be offered by Centris?
After years of a productive partnership between Centris and Tootelo Innovation, we were informed of Centris's decision to remove Immocontact from its offering. While this came as a surprise, our commitment to brokers remains unchanged.
What does this mean for brokers?
Within the next few weeks (an exact date will be shared shortly), Immocontact will no longer be available through Centris. Rest assured; Immocontact will remain fully accessible directly to brokers and real estate offices, just as it was prior to our partnership with Centris. We will continue to guide and support you to ensure a smooth transition, so you can keep using the platform you know and trust.
The good news?
Immocontact will remain just as robust, with simple and secure access. In the coming weeks, we will also be rolling out new and innovative features, including:
- Smart buyer's tour to help organise your visits
- AI-powered tools to streamline management and communication
- RCS protocol (secure, enhanced messaging) to optimise communications
- And many more enhancements to follow
These improvements are being developed by our in-house team, recognised for its TI and AI expertise. You may already be familiar with BonsAi, Quebec's very first health AI assistant, created by this same team for Bonjour-santé, a division of Tootelo Innovation. This is the level of expertise being applied to enhance Immocontact.
How will billing work?
We will offer a range of flexible, competitively priced plans tailored to the needs of individual brokers and real estate offices. Full details will be shared in due course.
If you have any questions or would like to explore your options, our team remains at your disposal.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
